For quite a few months now, existing internet radio sources give the message “error opening station” when I try to start them. When searching for stations when setting up a new stream, the search never completes.
It seems like amplipi can no longer connect to this service?
We’ve got a pull request in the works for the search function, though the “error opening station” is a new one to us. Here’s a few things that could solve that for you:
Restarting the stream: By going to Settings → Streams → {the name of the internet radio stream} → Restart Stream, you can reload the given stream and see if it reconnects
Restarting the system: By going to Settings → Configuration → Hardware Reboot you can restart the whole system, including the AmpliPi software just in case the internet radio internal service is the issue rather than any individual stream
Updating the station urls: If you go to this website and use the searchbar in the top right, you can verify that your stations are hitting the correct server by searching for the names of the stations you want to play with the searchbar in the top right. Once you’ve found the station you want, click on it and find the Server URL under the Streaming Server Info header, then copy that URL and place it in the URL box in the Stream’s settings, accessible by going to Settings → Streams → {the name of your stream} → URL and hitting Edit Stream when you’re done
If these don’t work, hit us up at support@micro-nova.com and we’ll explore further options. Let me know how these steps treat you!
