i am running amplipi v0.1.9 and have problems that sometimes the volume control doesn’t react anymore, volume and mute for a zone.
The GUI is changing for example from mute to unmuted but after some seconds, it came back to previous status. testing to add the zone to another input doesn’t work neither.
Only option is to reboot the system.
Nothing special from configuration, last week we did update + factory reset.
If/when this happens again, can you try doing a reset of the hardware (not the Pi) by clicking Configuration->“Hardware Reset”->Reset button? If that even temporarily fixes the problem it will help us narrow down the issue.
If rebooting it doesn’t solve it, the last thing we suggest trying is a full power down then start. This will power down all of the electronics, including any that could have gotten into a bad state.
Here’s how to do a full power down in v0.1.9:
Go to settings → Configuration and Reset → Hardware Shutdown (Power down device)
Click the Shutdown button
Unplug power from the unit
Wait 10 seconds
Plug the power back in
The unit will take 30-60 seconds to fully boot and load the AmpliPi application. Does it work after that?
For me it happens to all active zones (either 2 or 3 depending on what I’ve enabled).
I did a full reboot and, yes, that appears to fix it for some amount of time. I’ve rebooted several times in the last few weeks and it seems to happen again within a few hours or maybe a day. I’ll try to note the time next time
I didn’t had the issue anymore since i did the “hardware reset” option, +/-5days ago.
Could be that we didn’t used different inputs in last days that much, will test that also to see if the issue returns.
I have checked the logs and couldn’t find the error " 404 Not Found" anymore
Sorry to hear that., it really sucks that you are still experiencing this. Given the rate that you are experiencing this, it really seems like a hardware issue that needs to be fixed. You should contact support to initiate a repair.
Just a heads up: the logs are stored in memory so after a reboot they will be gone. This is done to preserve the MMC onboard the pi.
@jzawodn Hi Jeremy, could i ask if you had this issue since december 22?
We had both a bit the same issue but from our side it is still not solved, even after sending the unit back to AmpliPi. We’ve tested on all versions untill now on the latest version.
It looks like its linked to something about user behaviour or network or …
Is there anything else you’ve changed?
Do you have a special network? here ia have a broadband router > Unifi gateway, Unifi siwtch and all special options are already disabled to eliminate network issues.
