I don’t think I’m the only one but I’ve had several times that I switch between zones (activate/de-activate) and accidentally set a zone to 100% when scrolling i guess…
Isn’t that because you scroll up on a small screen and the volume bar 100% is on the right (where you normally also scroll up on the right side) ? Volume component is always in focus and changing with one click?
This unexptected effect doesn’t make the roommates and my speakers happy
Am I the only one?
I just use normal chrome on android device and the amplipi is running on 0.1.9
This is a bug that we’ve tried to mitigate but still needs a little work. I’ll add an issue for it on GitHub.
We recommend that you use the min/max volume settings to customize the min and max volume of each zone. This will prevent music playing too loud and make the volume sliders not overly sensitive to changes. Here’s how to do it:
- Go to Settings → Zones
- Pick a zone and adjust the min and max volumes in dB, we found that -50dB to -25dB to be a reasonable min and max volume settings to start with for most of our speakers. That said all speakers and preferences will be a little different.
- Play some audio out the zone and slide the volume to the min and max of the range. From our perspective you want the max to be as loud as you would reasonably play music and the min to still be audible. Adjust the zone as necessary.
the mitigate helps (still annoying if it happens in the morning…) but an interface/gui solution should be better.
It’s mostly when you are switching from zones.
Glad to hear that helped. We added this bug to our issues on github: Volume sliders should ignore scroll up/down · Issue #392 · micro-nova/AmpliPi · GitHub and will try to make some progress on it soon.
Just a heads up we are working on a fix for this. Initial testing is looking really promising: Slider Slide Rejection by klay2000 · Pull Request #394 · micro-nova/AmpliPi · GitHub
Let me know if you would like to test it out as a pre-release. It will take a couple of weeks to get it rolled into a new release.
