just a question would it be possible ? i know i can find adapters for that but what this would involve ?
Why do you ask? From our perspective the CM3+ works great for running AmpliPi.
Using a pi4 compute module with an adapter will not work out of the box and would require a decent amount of software changes to support it.
At a quick glance here’s what is missing:
- SPI interface to the display is missing
- i2S interface used to send audio to source 1 is missing so you would lose the 1/4 audio outputs.
We are looking at using the Pi4 in future versions of AmpliPi hardware but have not made any immediate plans.
I was curious. For the moment the Amplipi is used quite extensively streaming 4 radio streams and the zone are muted and unmuted based on presence and also there are announcement every 20 seconds sometimes being made while the muting is also happening etc. I noticed that the memory keep growing so for I made a Cron that restarts the Amplipi every night. So from here the question.
Oh I understand. I haven’t noticed any memory leaks like you describe in AmpliPi, could you provide a config file for us to try to replicate this? (Feel free to PM it to me if that makes more sense for you)
