# New Amplipi Software pre-release 0.4.0

Please check out our latest AmpliPi software release [0.4.0](https://github.com/micro-nova/AmpliPi/releases/tag/0.4.0)! We’re marking it as a pre-release before the US holiday weekend, but barring any show-stopper bugs this rendition will be marked as GA next Monday.

The past 6 months have seen a ton of changes, in this and prior releases. Our big milestones were UI polishing, functionality to better permit supporting our appliances in the field, and automated OS image builds. Along the way, we made Spotify, Pandora, and LMS much more stable, spruced up our EInk display, and a ton of bugfixes (a total of [276 commits between 0.3.0 & 0.4.0](https://github.com/micro-nova/AmpliPi/compare/0.3.0...0.4.0)!)

Because this is marked as a pre-release, you can upgrade by:

1. Go to the web app at [amplipi.local](http://amplipi.local).
2. Click the gear icon (⚙) in the bottom pane, then **Updates**
3. Click **Older Updates** and select 0.4.0 from the dropdown
4. Click the **Update** button
