# Controller out of stock?

The controller has been out of stock since (i think) June, definitely July. Does anyone know when more hardware will be available for sale. I am looking to buy the amplifier - do we know if/when we are expecting stock?

Hello @sean797,  
Thanks for your interest in AmpliPi and thanks for reaching out! So we ended up redoing the metal chassis design for a number of reasons. The hope was the stock we had on hand of previous gen chassis would be enough until the new sheetmetal arrived. Well, that was not the case (no pun intended). We currently have all the other sub-assemblies ready to go, but are awaiting delivery of the new sheetmetal chassis order. The goal is to have units back in stock and shipping by November 1. I am really sorry about the delay.

The main change is switching to an e-ink display. We also changed chassis manufacturers to one that could handle larger volumes.
